Constructive PD was awarded the $1 million contract to construct The Art Gallery WA (AGWA) rooftop decking.
In 2020, AGWA completed a significant renovation and construction led by ADCO of a new, nearly 1500m2, rooftop deck.
Perth architects TAG and Sydney firm fjmt dreamt up a complex but beautiful deck structure. The job wasn’t typical for commercial decking, with multiple elevations, triangular decking orientations, and various curves and insets to accommodate.
Although the massive wraparound timber deck consists of 13,500 linear metres of decking boards held down with 180,000 screws, the Constructive PD team ensured openness and lightness to the otherwise brutalist build.
In collaborating with ADCO and various contractors, Constructive PD was able to deliver an outstanding product of intricate workmanship.
